DiplomasThe new Diplomas are a key part of the UK Government's strategy for 14-19 year olds in English schools. It is anticipated that as many as 50% of learners in this age range will take up Diplomas in the next few years starting in 2008. The Learning Machine Ltd is an accredited Component Awarding Body for Diplomas. The Silver and Gold INGOTs are designed to be equivalent to one 60 hour unit of additional learning for the Level 1 and Level 2 Diplomas in any line of learning. This means a student achieving either qualification in Key Stage 3 (ages 11-14) already has credit towards any Diploma they decide to take later on eg in Key Stage 4 (ages 14-16) or in Further Education. (age 16+) What is more, the Silver INGOT is designed to be compatible with the Key Stage 3 programmes of study and can be achieved without major disruption of the existing curriculum.
