How to take a screen shot
This guide helps you to take a screen shot from your desktop for whatever purpose you might need it. Some people will ask for a screen shot in order to have a visual image of what's happening on your desktop or the web page that you are viewing. It will aid in trouble shooting a certain situation. Others also would take it to show the people what he/she have derived from his desktop.
Screen shot on a Windows machine:
1. Whatever is the display on your desktop that you wish to make a screen shot, on your keyboard just press "Prt Scr Sys Rq" as shown on the figure. But on other keyboards it may be different, it simply marked as "Print Screen Sys Rq".
2. At the "Start" menu, click on All Programs > Accessories > Paint. This is to open up Paint and paste our screen shot.
3. Paste your screen shot by following the image shown here.
4. And then save it on your Desktop as shown on the figure.
5. And you can now view your saved image or screen shot on your Desktop.
Screen Shot on Linux machine:
1. Its much simpler to take a screen shot on a Linux desktop.
2. On the desktop display above, just press "Prt Scr Sys Rq" as shown on the figure.
3. A pop up windows will appear. Just change the name or the filename and then hit "Save".
4. By default, your Linux desktop screen shot is located on the desktop itself.
