Level 1 Unit 4 - MFL (Speaking)

1. The learner will say single words and short, simple phrases in response to what they see and hear

Level 2 Unit 4 - MFL (Speaking)

1. The learner will answer simple questions and give basic information.

1.4 I can identify the correct sound patterns in what I say [8]

Level 3 Unit 4 - MFL (Speaking)

1. The learner will answer simple questions and talk about their interests.

1.1 I can participate in brief prepared tasks [10]
1.2 I can use visual or other clues to help me initiate and respond [11]
1.3 I can use short phrases to express personal responses [12]
1.4 I can occasionally substitute items of vocabulary to vary questions or statements [13]

Level 4 Unit 4 - MFL (Speaking)

1. The learner will participate in simple conversations, supported by visual or other cues, expressing their opinions.

1.1 I can use my knowledge of grammar to adapt and substitute single words and phrases [15]
1.2 I can pronounce most words generally accurately [16]
1.3 I can achieve some consistency in my intonation [17]
1.4 I can maintain a simple dialogue in familiar context [18]

Level 5 Unit 4 - MFL (Speaking)

1. The learner will participate in more complex conversations sometimes providing extended responses

1.1 I can give a short prepared talk that includes expressing my opinion [20]
1.2 I can take part in short conversations, seeking and conveying information, opinions and reasons in simple terms [21]
1.3 I can refer to recent experiences or future plans, as well as everyday activities and interests [22]
1.4 I can vary my language and sometimes produce more extended response [23]
1.5 I can make myself understood with little or no difficulty despite some mistakes [24]

Level 6 Unit 4 - MFL (Speaking)

1. The learner will participate in more complex conversations regularly providing extended responses

1.1 I can give a short prepared talk, expressing opinions and answering simple questions about it [26]
1.2 I can take part in conversations, using a variety of structures and producing more detailed or extended responses [27]
1.3 I can apply my knowledge of grammar in new contexts [28]

1. The learner will initiate and develop conversations discussing matters of personal or topical interest.
