Why three Log ins?
The simple answer is security. Only assessors can access the certification site and the assessment results are in a completely separate database from the information on the community site and the on-line courses.
Community log in
The community log in is for both assessors and learners. It provides access to the site tools to create an e-portfolio eg for the Silver INGOT or a Blog eg for the Gold INGOT. First you have to set up an account. Then when you have the account set up go to Blogs to start your Blog and Create Content to start an e-portfolio. To do all this, click on the community log-in link and register. To register you need an e-mail address because the system will use this to send you a message to make sure it is you that is setting up the INGOT community account. Fill in the registration details and click "Create Account". Pick up the message from your e-mail - it should arrive almost instantly and click on the link (or cut and paste it into your browser URL space). This gives you a web page in which you can put the password you will use to log in. Once this is done you can log in as a regular user. If you are an assessor you need to contact your account manager to set your role so that you can comment on Blogs. You should do this by sending an E-mail from the address stored with your account on the certification site immediately after setting up your account here.
Certification log in
The certification log in is only for use by assessors and moderators. It allows assessors and moderators to register new learners, to record on-going and final assessments and to award certificates. Only moderators and assessor trainers can set up accounts in this part of the site. If you want to become an assessor contact us through the contact links on the home page.
On-line courses log in
You can go to optional on-line courses that support your INGOT work. If you log in as a guest you can follow the courses there but you need to log in to do the quizzes. You need to make an account to log in. Once you have an account set up you can create your own courses too. You might want to create your own course for your Gold INGOT project, for example.
