NL - MEP

As FJ has told the partners during the meeting in Berlin, it is almost impossible for us to directly get in touch with one of 'our' Dutch MEP's. Dutch MEP's do not, as in the UK and many other EU member states, represent a district or region: they only represent a party. There's a big gap between the Dutch MEP's and the Dutch electorate. Dutch MEP's are very hard to reach and direct e-mails are not responded to. The only way to reach Dutch MEP's is indirectly, i.e. from within their own network. Meaning, either you have to have good contacts with colleague MEP's (from other EU-countries and with more or less the same topic of member of the same commissions in the EP) or you need to move from within the political party the respective MEP is a representative of.

For Pro Work, the latter is hardly possible, as we do not have contacts in the right political party.

As FJ told me, it was discussed in Berlin that the best option to reach the Dutch MEP would be through one of the other MEP's, already reached by some of the other partners (f.e. through your contacts with the UK MEP or Manfred's contacts with his MEP). Please let me know if you have any more ideas on how to reach our MEP. We have already informed her twice on the project and have already asked for contact by e-mail. Sofar, no results.
