Aim: To provide community support including explanatory documents making them freely available to all through Creative Commons Share-alike licensing and developing and maintaining the community web site support during the course of the project.

General description

Production of a new handbook based on revised and extended qualifications that are designed to match the newly established UK Qualifications Credit Framework and therefore the EQF. Transfer of the handbook to the web site and making appropriate links between criteria and keywords and supporting information. eg linking assessment criteria to the National Occupational Standards of the relevant countries. Supporting users in forums and providing leadership for community participation. Production of end of phase reports to the Project Board for each phase and acting on any feedback.

Methods and pedagogy

Activities conducted across 4 phases each of 6 months duration. Technical authoring, standard web development techniques using Web 2.0 tools, standard research methods and the methods of open source communities and networks.

Budget comments

No travel was planned for this WP. UK need to provide a considerable input because of the need to build on existing systems. Partners have some technical days to ensure that localisation of any materials can be checked in addition to the translation service provided by the translations WP. There is a print budget for the production of the new handbook, publicity leaflets and such like.
