It all started here...

I first glimpsed an Atalanta sailing boat in Arisaig, Scotland. With three friends and myself, we had spent a few days sailing around the Small Isles and ended up one evening in the peaceful harbour at Arisaig.

Across the water lay a strange-looking boat, which my friends explained was unusual in its ability to both sail the high seas as well as navigating shallow rivers and canals. Moreover, the boat was light enough to place on a trailer and tow behind something like a Land Rover.

Years later, I thought about owning one of these boats...
