How to become an INGOT Awarding Centre

Becoming an Awarding Centre for INGOT qualifications

An INGOT Awarding Centre has to meet certain criteria to be authorised to participate in the programme.

  1. It must satisfy The Learning Machine that it has adequate facilities for making the required assessments and that the organisation has a commitment to equality of opportunity and learner well-being. Usually, schools, colleges and similar places of learning will already have policies and procedures in place that meet these requirements.
  2. Every Centre has to have a Principal Assessor who is trained as an Assessor Trainer. The Learning Machine runs courses for achieving Assessor Trainer status and will also provide training on an individual basis where it is clear that the organisation is committed to becoming a Centre.

If you are interested in participating in a training course please put your contact details here and we will get back to you as soon as possible. Alternatively you can call +44 (0) 1827 305940 or contact us via the form with any further questions. Thank you for your interest in the INGOTs.

There is a free course for assessors on the Moodle web site linked from the home page of the INGOT site. Go to the Moodle site, set up an account (it's free) and log in. Go to INGOT Assessor training and start at the beginning and work through. If you do this, the time required for the assessor training will be reduced to about 2 hours otherwise it will take a day and you will probably need to refer back to the on-line course after the training.
