Sunday 19th October

Manfred, Eric and Ian on Brighton Pier - very windy, but at least it was not raining!

Further work on the project and then a trip to Brighton, one of the leading holiday resorts in the UK famous for its pier.Everyone enjoyed a lovely day at the seaside, taking in the sights, including the Pavilion, and the famous pier- and savouring the delights of fish and chips at the famous Harry Ramsden's!

Manfred had a dose of nostalgia when a rally for vintage VW camper vans came into town. Brighton is famous as a place for gatherings of motor enthusiasts including motorcycles and vintage cars. The journey from London to Brighton is about 60 miles (96 km) and it is undertaken by many groups. There is even a road race for runners which makes the Marathon seem like a sprint!

Monday 20th October

An early start for  a tour of Sunbury Manor  School, conducted by the head teacher, Louise Duncan. This was followed by work on the project, most notably the onerous task of translating the assessment criteria into their mother tongues. This required particualr care to ensure that the technical meaning for consistent  assessment was preserved across all partners. UK partners began to explore ways of using and delivering the INGOT qualifications to other targeted groups with a focus on inclusion, such as the older community.

In the afternoon it was back into London, but this time to the affluent Kensington to visit the magnificent Natural History and Science museums as well as a shopping trip to Harrods.
