Desktop research and data collection have started, and are now underway. An online survey has been constructed to complement these efforts:

Suggested means of disseminating the questionnaire and time limits:

Timing. We should strive to achieve as many respondents as possible by the end of February, beginning of March 2010. Reason - we must produce a first draft of the business models and we need all he info we can get for this. The survey, however, will remain active until the Fall of 2010, when the final product of our work is to be presented. All partners should be aware that the quality of the model will depend, to a large extent, on the number and quality of entries in the questionnaire.

Dissemination strategies. We'd like to share with you some suggestions in making the survey popular and getting respondents. Of course, channels may be different and also they may change over time. So don't consider this as a prescription, but rather as sharing experience.

Facebook or other social networks - Putting the link in your profile or posting it as a message gets lots of hits. Please make sure you introduce the survey clearly enough, so that people don't just go and give up after the fir question. Tell people how long it will probably take them to fill it, explain why it is important to you, and thank them.

Specialized forums - Usually large internet communities (no matter what exactly their audience shares in common) have lively forums. Posting there would more or less follow the Facebook model.

Your own website - If your site attracts lots of hits, put a link there. This will also be good for you, as your clients will see what are your activities.

News website - This is one of the best channels. Try to have a news site publish a small article about it and keep the link after for several weeks.

Other friendly sites - You may ask colleagues and friend who maintain websites to put a link to the survey, pointing out that this is not a commercial study and you don't make money out of it.
