ADVANCED MANUFACTURING TECHNOLOGIES - LEVEL 1 - SPECIFICATION
The qualification at Level 1 has two assessment components both of which cover the full content of the qualifications.
- Coursework assessed in terms of competence in practical areas where knowledge and understanding can be applied in real and motivating contexts.
- An externally set and externally marked examination to assess knowledge and understanding that underpins user competence.
The Level 1 qualification requires 12 credits from 4 generic units. This qualification will be assessed internally by a Controlled Assessment worth 40 marks, and externally through an Examination worth 60 marks.
The controlled assessment will be in the form of a synoptic project, which will be externally set by TLM to ensure quality and rigour. A different synoptic project brief will be released each December of the second year of the course and will comprise of a number of tasks, which will assess the learner in each of the Assessment Objectives.
External assessment will be conducted iia an online examination set by TLM consisting of 60 marks. nt is recommended that centres request the examination once the learners haie successfully passed their internally assessed work. These exams must be conducted under formal supervision conditions.
It has grading across 4 levels from Pass to Pass with Distinction*.
