Backups

What does backup mean?

It means backing up files to a second medium incase anything happens to them. You can back them up on any of the mediums below:

What should you backup?

External hard drive	Contains internal fan unlike computers	Can be easily dropped, damaged or knocked
USB storage device	Small and light. Easy to take around	Not a lot of storage room
Online storage	Free	Is not under your control
Printouts	On paper so no computer needed	Easy to lose
Recordable CD/DVD	Cheap sometimes re-writable	Easily scratched

Precautions:

Make sure that they are not in your house
Keep them in a friends house or in a fire proof safe
Make sure that they are in a trusted place incase your bank details are there
