The importance of backing up data

It is important to back up your work so that you can restore a back up copy if the other one is lost after someone has stolen it, or if you get hardware failure, software bugs or even a computer virus. You should back up your important work and other files which would be hard to replace. Therefore backing up data can prevent data lost. It's also important because it can protect important files like business contacts, presentations and text documents and other valuable information.

Data can be lost if the information is stored in a hard drive. This is caused by the hard disk failing and not being in use any more. Most people have hard disks that have already failed or will fail, that's why it is important to back up your work.
